Good news and meet-up with Sara Mari, Tom and Sakie

Hello friends, here I am again with the latest news from Tokyo :-) This time I even have wondeful news to share with you, cause I finally found a job! I can't express how happy I am that it finally worked out somehow with the help of wonderful friends whom I wanna thank so much (I know you're reading this XD) It is also exactly what I wanted to do, I'm really happy that I didn't end up in some kitchen cutting vegetables, hahaha! It is very much to learn at the beginning, as I had my orientation day today. But the boss is soooo nice, he opened a bank account with me and helped me filling out papers and stuff, and my co-worker explained everything to me, and I'm fulla energy and motivation to give my very best. I'll start on Jan, 2 and I somehow have to manage to buy some proper clothes until then. Ahhh, I'm so relieved now!

Btw, for those of you were looking forward to read about our Christmas Date, I'm sorry, but it was postponed again... well the guys can't really decide and cancel last minute, and it's getting on my nerves, haha. Let's see if they contact me again, lol.

Charlotte and me had to celebrate my new job with cake :-))

I got this lovely X-Mas package from NeNe! Thanks a lot, my dear :-) I'll send you something cute, too :-)

Then I had the chance to meet-up with fellow bloggers and good friends Sara Mari and Tom and Sakie!! My God, I was so excited to finally meet Sara Mari in real life, and she lived up to my expectations. It is so easy to talk with her, and she is a cute and interesting person. Everyone who has met her will agree with me, right? It was a spontanous meet-up right after my orientation, so I did not bring my camera, but Tom made a bunch of pictures which I'm sure he'll share with us soon :-)) It was so much fun to meet up and they are such good people, I really enjoyed the time I spent with them! We went into a fancy cake shop where we had delicious cake <3 After that Tom and Sakie sadly had to leave, so Sara Mai and me did some purikura, had coffee and a nice dinner at "Royal Host", a family restaurant chain. I really hope we can meet up again a couple of times before she returns to the US. As I have no fotos to share yet, have some purikura ahead :-)

I really like this one :-) Sorry for my ugly handwriting, though :-)

She was fashionable as always :-)

See my stylish new pasmo holder?? XD

Thanks to Sara Mari, Sakie and Tom for that wonderful day :-) It is really awesome that I can meet such great people here in Tokyo, which makes the Working Holiday stay definitely worth all the stress and efforts.

I WISH ALL OF MY READERS A HAPPY NEW YEAR, WHEREVER YOU ARE, WHOEVER YOU'RE GOING TO CELEBRATE NYEVE WITH, I WISH YOU A LOT OF FUN, A GREAT PARTY AND A WONDERFUL TIME. Thank you for staying with me all the time <33 Love you <33

How to spend Christmas in Japan

Hello my friends, from what I've read in your blogs it seems you guys had a wondeful Christmas time! I'm gonna tell you what I did the last couple of days in this post, so be aware of a huge picture spam!

Well, Christmas was different for me this year, since I got to spend it in Tokyo without my family. But I decided to make the best out of it and do it the japanese way, namely meeting up with friends, going to a Party and have a Christmas Date. More about that in a minute :-)

DEC, 23 (THU): My sis and me decided to have an early Christmas. We exchanged presents and had lovely lunch and dinner together. Thanks sis for the sweet presents. Have some fotos :-)

Presents from sis: Oreo Cookies with Marshmellow filling, an expensive handcream, white Pokkies and a strawberry flavoured fragrance from Bleach

Kiiroi Tori Passcase (for riding the train in Japan you use a special card which you have to charge with money, I have both Passmo and Suica)

You just go to the ticket gate and hold your card on a scanner and then you can pass the gate

Last present: Square Rilakkuma cushion!! My sis has the same :-)

DEC 24, (FRI, Christmas Eve): I spent the day with my good friend Steffi, whom I didn't see since May back home in Germany. I thought she wouldn't make it to Tokyo on time since her flight was cancelled due to heavy snow in Europe (you can read about that story and her post about our day here, and please follow her blog, too). Anyway, she made it somehow and I was really really happy to see her again cause I've missed her so much, and it was great just seeing her and chatting about stuff which happend lately :-) We had Crepe, made Purikura and Cafe Hopping, see it yourself!

Steffi, you are so pretty <33

This one is specially cute :-)

Thanks to Steffi's boyfriend Yuta who made this foto :-)

I got these lovely earrings as a Christmas present from Steffi :-)

DEC, 25 (SAT Christmas Day): I have actually arranged a Christmas Date for me and Kerstin with the guy from the Shinjuku office and his friend, but I was contacted and the date was postponed to Dec, 28. So I was alone all day and called Lou, and asked if she was free that day. She was and we met up in Shinjuku for a coffee and a chat at our favourite Cafe Tullys :-) Then suddenly my phone rang and the guy I was supposed to date on 28th was talking to me. He asked if I was free and I told him I was with Lou, and he suggested to meet up with him and his friend later in the evening. Well, I said yes after having asked Lou if she wanna join, so we headed to my home in Ikebukuro to style ourselves up for the date. While doing that I was contaced again, being told that it may be better to stick to the original plan of meeting up on 28th, lol. Not that you think the whole styling was in vain, Lou had a plan B in case plan A wouldn't work :-) Her japanese friend Hideki and his italian friend Alessio had time that evening and we went to meet-up in a lounge in Shibuya, and later for clubbing in the club "ELF" (which means eleven in German, lol). Hideki had connections so we didn't have to pay the entrance fee XD It was more fun than expected, since it was my first time in a real club, haha! I had returned home at 6 o' clock in the morning, thanks again to Lou, Hideki and Alessio!

Me after Charlotte and Lou have done their styling. They did a great job, people who know me personally know how simple I normally dress, hahaha! But of course I put my glasses on later, I feel really naked without it XD

 Hideki and me

Lou and me. She was pretty as always :-) Too bad I don't have a foto from Alessio, but you can read Lou's post about that day here, she posted more fotos! To my followers on facebook, you can see fotos there, too :-)

A lovely Christmas present from Lou, a compact mirror :-) I felt so bad since I had nothing for her... Thanks a lot my dear, I will use it carefully :-)

DEC, 26 (SUN): I met up with Kerstin and her friend Kathrin in Shibuya for a coffee and chat and for strolling around. It was nice to see the girls, but too bad I don't have a picture! :-) Next time then!!

DEC, 27 (MON): Lunch with sis in Shinjuku. We had Omelett Rice (we're both huge fans of that japanese dish :-)) and talked about this and that. Then I headed to my long awaited meet-up with Caroline, I was so much looking forward to meet her since arranging the date a month ago :-) And it was such a great meet-up, we went shoppping in 109 and she got lovely new stuff (you can read about what she bought here). Then we headed to Saint Marc's Cafe and had a long chat about this and that, and a dinner at TGI Friday. It was a blast, really, so funny to talk to her, I love her American English and could listen to her speaking al the time, lol. She is such a nice and interesting person who has lived and experienced a lot in Japan, I wish I could say that about me too in the near future :-) Enough text now, here is something for your eyes!

 Lunch with sis

 Lovely Caroline

In TGI Friday, this was our personal waiter "Poncho", he was good looking so we asked for a foto :-)

I could not decide which one to post so have the two almost similar pics :-)

Caroline and me (I have a weird light in my face, surely it comes form the lights in the room :-)

 Our drinks :-)

My first american dinner, lol. It was soooo huge :-)

I always look so good on food pics I wonder why?? XDD

American dinner for an american girl :-) (And for a german one, lol)

I love this shot, great fotographer!! XDD

Our dessert, Oreo Cookies Vanilla Ice-Cream Sandwich :-)

The sweet present I got from Caroline, Chocolate from Disney Sea!

And a lovely package from my dear friend Lara!! Thank you so much, I love it!! Even though I already own the "Ultimate Shine" Solid Shampoo from Lush and the box, haha!

I still have some purikura from Caroline and me, but I still did not send them to my pc yet. Thanks Caroline for sending them to my phone, I will post them here soon.

My God, this has become such a monster post, I hope you stayed with me until the very end!! I tried to make up for not posting the last couple of days cause I've been rather busy :-) The next post will be about Kerstin's and my belated double Christmas Date, look forward to it (I know you are, haha!^^)

350 Followers and a Merry Christmas

Hello friends, how are you? It's windy and rainy today in Tokyo, but nevertheless I'm enjoying the day. At first I'd like to thank my 350 followers!! I just realized how awesome that number that is! I've gained 50 new followers since arriving in Tokyo, and it makes me so happy that people are interested in my stay and my blog! Please go on supporting and reading, I love you guys! *hugs*

And actually, I missed an important date in my blogger history... Rainy Days turned one year old on November, 23! It was such a stressful time that I really forgot to just mention it here, and I planed to have a giveaway and everything, but I think I have to postpone it to the new year, sorry for that! I'll make sure to make up for keeping you waiting! ^^ I already have some interesting things in mind!

About the last job interview, I got a refusal letter from the office in Shinjuku. Too bad, I really hoped it would work out somehow, because I would have loved it to work there. Well, I still have the phone number from that guy (since he had nothing to do with the decision I can still meet-up with him or can't I, lol). Anyways, I've got another job interview yesterday in Azabu Juban which I got through connections (a huge thanks to Lou and Meli). But Lou cancelled our meet-up in last minute cause she had problems with her eye (are you alright, my dear? I'll text you later!), so it was just Kerstin and me heading to the job interview.

The interview was really good, and I felt very comfortable talking with the boss :-) Kerstin and me got free coffee which was so nice, hehe! I gave my very best to leave a good impression, and I think I talked quite fluent japanese (no I'm not conceited at all, haha XD), so I will hope that it will work out this time! But I am very optimistic (since we also asked the coin oracle and it said yes, lol. That was an insider, ne Kerstin?)

After that we had dinner in a family restaurant and strolled through Roppongi and ended up drinking coffee in Excelsior. Have some fotos of the day :-)

 Christmas Illumintaion in Roppongi Hills

More trees covered up in nice illumination

What a Christmas present, wouldn't fit under our tree back home, lol

View on Tokyo Tower from Roppongi Hills. Too bad the picture can't display even a little bit of how amazing and impressive it was to see Tokyo Tower at night, it was glowing magnificiantly, it is something you have to see with your own eyes I guess to get the feeling we had :-)

My camera is too bad, lol

I got a lovely Christmas postcard from Melissa and a letter/present from Pei, thank you both so much! I love you <333

Can you believe it is already Christmas tomorrow? Well, when I say Christmas I actually always mean December, 24 and not 25, as it is in the US or in Japan. Well, my sis and me will have our Christmas today, so I think I'll stay at home on 24. Well, it doesnt matter anymore, since every day feels the same here in Tokyo, haha. I don't have a special Christmas feeling (it is still too warm, yesterday it felt like spring in April), so I'll try to do it the japanese way this year, haha! (For those of you who don't know, Christmas time is dating time in Japan, you rather spend New Years with your family).Well, I managed to organize a Christmas Date for Kerstin and me on Dec, 25!! Remember the guy from the Shinjuku office I asked the phone number for? I asked if he has time to meet with two single girls and he said yes, and he will also bring another friend and hopefully it will become an enjoyable evening :-) Look forward to my upcoming posts!

Took this foto in a cat cafe a few weeks ago, she was wearing a cute santa hat!

I WISH YOU ALL A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND THE BEST WISHES FOR THE NEW YEAR! HAVE A LOVELY TIME WITH YOUR FAMILY, CHRISTMAS FOOD AND PRESENTS! Everything which I can't have this year, lol I WILL THINK OF YOU ALL IN FAR FAR AWAY TOKYO <333

Thank you for staying with me and Rainy Days the last year, this blog would not be anything without you and your lovely comments!

First Sign and Handshake Event

Hello friends, are you enjoying your weekend? Mine has been great, I had the opportunity to go to my first sign and handshake event ever. Though I'd not call myself a fan of the band "Moi-Dix-Mois" it was a lot of fun and an absolutely new experience for me. You know, I love music and certain bands and such, but it has never played an important role in my life. I've never been to a concert or sign event before. But thanks to my roomate Charlotte I got a ticket, too and was very curious about that event. Have some fotos of the day :-)

Some purikura we made before the event

Charlotte, and some other fans dressed up in Gothic Lolita

The CD Shop "Zeal Link" in Shibuya, where the event was held!

Charlotte and me with our event tickets :-) I guess I was one of the few who was not dressed up, lol.

Charlotte looked so elegeant yesterday, completely dressed up in Moi-Meme-Moitie clothing

The event itself was quite short, we could shake hands with every member, and each of them signed on a special event poster. I did not know what to say so I just said thank you to every member and smiled, oh yes, and I told Mana that I liked his new album :-) Many fans brought presents for the members, and they were collected by the female manager in a huge box. By the end of the event they must have got tons of presents :-)

I was quite flashed when I saw the members in real life,  though I've seen them on fotos before. Now I know I think I understand why people say musicians have a special aura or a lot of charisma. It was a very cool event, though I'm actually not a fan of this band. Maybe I have the chance to go to something similar like this soon :-)

Here is the poster with all member's sign :-)

Well, today I cancelled a date in Roppongi, cause I have a lot of other things to do, and I'm still so tired from yesterday (after the event I went shoppping with Kerstin, and Shibuya on Saturday night literally kills you. It was so crowded and we were so annoyed, but in the end she bought a lot of things and was happy again XD). I'm thinking about calling the office I had my last interview with on Monday (then a whole week has passed), but I've already got another job interview on Wednesday, thanks to Lou and her friend Meli :-) I'm full of confidence to find something to work soon!!! So, see you!

About a Job Interview in Shinjuku

So, on Monday I continued my job hunting with Lou (who btw has become so much of a good friend to me since I've met her the first time a month ago, thank you so much, you are such a supportive and wonderful friend!). We met up in Shinjuku to go to the job center and check out the new job offers, and while I had a counselation the woman there found two offers for me. She called the first one and they told her there are still appointments free for a job interiew, exactly on the same day I was there. So, she said, you have a job interview in about 3 hours, and I was like what?? I can't prepare etc. And while explaning this and that to me I got so nervous to really go that job interview. I can't explain it, but I somehow had a very bad feeling about that interview. Normally I'm not nervous at all, that's why it was so weird I had a bad feeling about it. Since it was raining like hell that day I told Lou that I might skip it, cause I was so afraid, lol. But we found the buliding in which the interview was easily and went in. It was a very fancy and tall buliding, very chic and there were business people everywhere, haha. When it was finally time for the interview I felt the same nervousness like back in high school when I was going to my last final oral exam, lol. We waited in the lobby of the company and were picked up by the guy in charge of the interviews. At first he thought Lou was the one to be interviewed (yeah, she is such a cutie and eyecatcher :), but it turned out to be me, lol. Then he said it is okay for Lou to join the interview, too, which was so surprising, and I'm so thankful he did that cause having Lou sitiing next to me made me feel less nervous. So when the interview finally started I realized in seconds that all the fear, the nervousness, the bad feelings I had were such a waste of time! Why did I even bother to feel like that? The guy was so nice and the interview turned out to be one of the best I ever had, at first he talked about the company itself, then I had to introduce myself and answer to some questions, and at the end the interview became some kind of small talk between the three of us. He was wondering how to meet and get to know more international friends, and we gave him some advice like clubbing and blogging and then I thought he could simply meet up with us since we know quite a lot of international friends who we could introduce him to. So I ended up asking for his phone number, and he gave it to me :-) Did I already mention that he was quite good-looking? XD So, even if I don't get the job at his company I still have his phone number, hahaha! Great Lol. Im still so proud that I asked, and I was so astonished how easy it was! :) I knew the stay here would be good for having more confidence, that's also what Lou said, and you were so right! Anyway, it would be so awesome to work there, let's hope the best and that I get a call the next days!

Oh, wow, this has become so text lasting, I actually just wanted to let you know that I'm fine and that I'll continue job hunting until I've found something!! Hope you enjoyed reading this post anyways.

Last but not least, the lovely Caroline featured me and my blog in her last post, be sure to check it out! Thanks Caroline, that was so cute of you! Can't wait to see you in two weeks! XD

Fun Night in Shibuya

I'm sorry for my last post, people who know me personally know that I'm usually not down or depressive, it's rather the opposite, I'm always smiling and in a good mood XD I guess it's because everthing's so difficult at the moment, but I'm so sure better times will come! Somehow my motivation returned, also a huge thanks to you, my beloved blogger friends! Your words made my day :-) I will try to post about more positive stuff from now on, and should I need some comfort again, please send me your comments, lol. And I will respond to your comments tomorrow, so be sure to check the last post again!

Speaking about positve stuff, I just returned home from a funny evening in Shibuya with my roommate Charlotte. We spent the late afternoon with our new friend Kazu, who is a friend from my friend :-) We had a delicious dinner at the Izakaya "Hana no Mai" ("Flowerdance), have some fotos!

 Omelett

 Crab Pizza

 Sashimi Mix

Dessert: Shiratama Kurogoma Ice-cream (White mochi and black sesame ice-cream)

 Decoration in the Izakaya

 Charlotte and me

Kazu, Charlotte and me. Somehow I had a good hair day, lol. Normally it looks awful :-)

Starbucks :-)

It was a funny evening, and we were able to speak Japanese the whole time! Oh how I love that, I wish I could speak it every day to get better. Kazu is such a funny and interesting person, we had a lot of fun chatting and spending the evening with him. Hope we can get together like this soon again, it will be so much. If you're reading this Kazu, thanks for spending time and for sharing that lovely dinner with us :-) Let's hang around soon again^^

Yoshhhh, tomorrow I'll go on job hunting with Lou in Shinjuku!! Fully-motivated and hopefully succesful! XD See you! :-)
